Equine massage

Equine massage therapy
Horses are considered to be one of the most graceful animals on the planet. From the racetrack, to the show ring, they are very athletic. Horse athletes, just like humans, can get sore from over worked muscles.

Sports massage's major benefit is to increase circulation throughout the body. Equine massage also helps to rid the body of toxins and also releases endorphins, the body's natural novacain. When a horse receives a massage, whether it be a blue ribbon winner or a back yard trail horse, you can see signs of tension release almost instantly.

It is the systematic approach that is so beneficial. Your horse will receive a full body massage not only where the horse appears to be sore to us. This will address the muscles that compensate for the injured muscles as well. Working with a local horse rescue group, the horses that are scheduled for chiropractic care get a massage 2 to 3 days before their appointment. The vet encourages this because a more relaxed horse is easier to manipulate and treat.
